Abercrombie & Kent's luxury riverboat in Peru will be called Pure Amazon

Abercrombie & Kent has unveiled the name of its first Amazon riverboat -- Pure Amazon.

The 12-cabin riverboat will debut in 2025 on the Peruvian Amazon, sailing three- and four-night itineraries. Guests can combine sailings to do a seven-day cruise.

Pure Amazon will have 10 suites and two solo cabins. Cabins will let in a lot of natural light and feature an earth-tone color scheme and Indigenous artwork. Furniture will be locally sourced.

Leading the ship's design is architect Adriana Granato of Milan-based Studio Ibsen. Granato is collaborating with local artists on the ship's interiors to reflect the spirit of the Amazon.

Onboard, guests will find indoor and outdoor lounges, a dining room, a gym, a massage room and a pool on the sundeck. A skiff will be available for excursions on the river.

The riverboat will be featured in A&K's Small Group Journeys and Tailor Made itineraries.

Bookings open to the public in August, but A&K says travel advisors will have access in July.

Chasing Deals or Chasing Nightmares? My Love-Hate Relationship with Trip.com

I've had a bit of a mixed experience with Trip.com over the years. On the one hand, I've been able to find some great deals on flights and hotels through their platform, with prices that are often significantly lower than what I can find on other major travel booking sites. A few times now, I've had to deal with flights or hotel stays being canceled or changed by the airline or hotel, only to find that Trip.com's policies make it really difficult and expensive to get a refund or make changes on my end. However, I've also run into a few issues that have given me pause about continuing to use...
